Men Cooking

Today is National Men Make Dinner Day.  I'm not sure what the person who came up with this holiday was thinking.  If a man usually cooks then this is nothing new and isn't really a holiday. However if a man normally is not allowed in the kitchen then the results could possibly be in The Complete Manual of Things that Might Kill You. I'm not saying, I'm just saying.  You know maybe a nice dinner at a resturant would be a better gift for this holiday.

Bonfire Night

Guy Fawkes Night is celebrated today in England.   It is to commemorate the Gunpowder Conspiracy of 1605 lead by Guy Fawkes.  The British celebrate with fireworks and building bonfires.  This Houses of Parliament London Skyline in the Evening Canvas is a great gift for any Londoner missing Guy Fawkes Day.

Tut, tut

Today is King Tut Day. King Tutankhamen is the most well know Egyptian Pharaoh. Not because of anything he did during his rule but because his tomb was the most well preserved tombs ever found.   These King Tut Candles are a great gift for any one wanting to know more about the pharaoh.

Soup and Sandwiches

Today is Sandwich Day. Sandwiches are probably the most common lunch meal.  I mean who hasn't had a sandwich for lunch.  Even those fast food burgers are considered sandwiches.  My faorite meal during the winter is a grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup.  This Soup and Sandwich Plate is a gift that makes any soup and sandwich look as good as they taste

Bad Eggs

Today is Deviled Egg Day.  I would think this holiday would be closer to Easter than Halloween.  Since making deviled eggs is an easy way to get rid of all those decorated eggs. This handy Stack N Snap Deviled Egg Carrier is a great way to carry deviled eggs to a party.  That is if you have any left.  Usually the number I start out with and the amount that actually make it to the party are never the same.  Maybe I need an electric shock version as a gift.

Books, Books and more Books

Today is National Authors Day, Family Literacy Day and Booklovers Day.  What better way to celebrate these holidays than with the works of Dr. Seuss?  His books are loved by people everywhere even adults have a favorite book of his they read as a child or read to their children.  Reading together is a great way to spend time with your family. This Your Favorite Seuss book is a great gift for any reader.

Frankie Baby

Frankenstein Friday just happens to be the same day as Halloween this year.  Frankenstein Friday was created to honor the "mother" and "father" of Frankenstein. Mary Shelley wrote Frankenstein in 1818 and Boris Karloff brought the monster to the big screen in 1931.  Since today is Halloween this Lil' Frankie Toddler Frankenstein Costume is a great gift for any little monster.

Candy Corn Anyone

It makes sense that National Candy Corn Day is the day before Halloween.  It gives you another reason to enjoy this sugary candy. This Candy Corn Candle Set is a great gift for anyone who loves candy corn.  The best thing is these candles are a lot more diet friendly than the candy corn.

Just Want to be Alone

Today is for all those people that want to be alone. It is Hermit Day.  When I think of hermits I remember some story about a guy going off to live by himself to find the meaning of life and he never did figure out the meaning of life. Hermits like to live alone and not be bothered by the hustle and bustle of life most of us deal with.  I don't suggest chucking everything and going off to live alone but I do think this Hermit Crab Habitat makes a great gift.

Plush Animal Lovers Day

Today is Plush Animals Lovers Day.  Who hasn't received a favorite stuffed animal as a gift that you loved as a kid.  Doesn't matter if it was a traditional teddy bear, a stufffed dog or a Plush Clydesdale, everyone had some kind of stuffed animal they loved growing up.  Today is the day to remember that old friend and celebrate with them.
