Feed the Birds and Listen to the Hum

Botanica Hummingbird Feeder

You can never have too many feeders, and this Botanica Hummingbird Feeder will fit in beautifully with any outdoor decor. Made from handblown recycled glass, it is also eco-friendly, not that the hummingbirds will notice. With two red glass flowers and holding 7 ounces of nectar, this should keep them occupied for a while. Includes a removable decanter-style top for easy refilling and cleaning.

This hummer is a boy. In species common to the southeast USA, females have white on the tips of their tail feathers.

Tip: Hummingbird feeder sugar water recipe: Use a 1/4 ratio. In other words, 1/4 cup (2 oz) of sugar to one cup (8 oz) of water.

Don't color the sugar water red. They can't see it inside the feeder and they don't need it. Thanks!

Drink Up

The Drinking Bird This drinking bird is a perfect fit for Bird Day.  An excellent conversation starter, just put the bird's beak in a glass of water, he will start drinking, and the colored liquid in his body will begin to rise.  From Edmund Scientifics, this neat bird is an excellent indicator of relative humidity.  A fun gift for anyone into weird but cool gizmos.
