An astrolabe was used to measure the angle between the zenith (point directly overhead) and a celestial body such as the sun during the day or the north star at night. Christopher Columbus would have used an astrolabe to help him navigate the ocean to the New World. This Astrolabe Watch incorporates this early astronomical insturment.

Today is the 50th anniversary of the first showing of the Twilight Zone - and that was a Friday, too! I'm celebrating with this I'm In The Twilight Zone T-Shirt. Even though it only ran for 5 seasons, it is still well known and episodes continue to be broadcast and sold on DVD.  I've actually read some of the books, too.

Today is the 40th anniversary of when the zebra crossing shot from the Beatles Abbey Road album cover was taken.  Wow. Doesn't time just fly away. Guess there's just "Something" about this album that makes us all want to "Come Together" and  commemorate this day with The Beatles Abbey Road T-Shirt.

This shot is probably the most parodied album cover ever. And it only took 15 minutes to shoot!

I'm sure there are a lot of "young ones" out there that have no idea what this is. Your parents may have a bunch of those big round plastic discs, covered with cardbboard with large pictures.
